It's been a truly hideous week at work (Calgon....take me away!) hence no reports. It's somewhat quieter today so I will try to sum up my week.
Sunday 8/08- LSD with the hubby. It was hot out and after we got to around 3 miles he started to feel a bit lightheaded, so we stopped and walked the rest of the way (about another 1/2 mile) to the farmer's market where we refueled with some juice. We went to an event in Astoria Park that afternoon and then instead of taking the train home, we decided to walk- which was another 3 miles or so.
Monday 8/09-2.5 miles by myself. Kept it around 9:30 min. miles. I was tired and probably should have eaten before I ran.
Tuesday 8/10- I was tired and couldn't motivate myself to do anything, so I didn't.
Wednesday 8/11-Got up at 4 AM (insomnia) and was totally bored so I went swimming at 6:30. Did laps for about 45 minutes. Didn't have the pool to myself like last week, but it wasn't too crowded. Felt really good while swimming, but was lightheaded afterward (and I made sure I ate a light breakfast before I went).
Thursday 8/12-another lazy day. I felt so drained from my horrible week at work that I didn't have the motivation to get out the door in time to do anything physical. I suck.
Friday 8/13-Friday the 13th!!!! Went swimming this AM and was treated to a mostly empty pool. Felt good this AM, but now I'm starting to drag (and it's only 9:30A!). Can't wait until 5PM!!
Good luck to you this weekend Pats (and your Mom)! I'm chanting for you sweeties!

Hey Saf
ReplyDeletefirst of all... you certainly don't suck! I really enjoy reading how pretty much everyday you find the time and strength to go work out, regardless of how stressed out you are. That's very nice. You should be very proud of yourself.
I'm a bit worried, though, about your reports on getting lightheaded. We're wondering here whether you're eating well... gotta take care of yourself!
I hope you had a nice weekend!
This is so strange- I posted a comment here the other morning but it seems to have vanished into the cyber-void.
ReplyDeleteAnyway, I wanted to thank you, m... for your kind words of encouragement. I need a little reality check sometimes and appreciate the wise words of my awesome blog mates. I need to take better care of myself esp my prep. before exercising. I've been remiss and not very attentive to my body's needs. I promise to eat before I work out and not beat myself up if I miss a workout for a day.
So when are you going to do a 5k? I love reading the race reports- we need to do more events!
