Tri and du

After shelving the tri, I decided to make myself feel better by looking for other races to train for. I found a duathlon at the end of August on Staten Island (1 mile run, 12 mile bike ride, 4 mile run). Sounds painful, so naturally I signed up. There's also a tri in Dutchess Cty that (hopefully!) Pats and I will be able to do. Keeping my fingers crossed....

So, training-wise I decided to run yesterday. I was initially going to ride my bike in and do some laps in Central Park, but hubby hurt his back and was not up to it. It was hot as Hades, so I went nice and slow- did 2.5 miles in around 35 minutes with hubby riding his bike/support vehicle next to me. It's immensely helpful to have someone handing you ice cold bottles of water on a 95F degree day as you're plodding along. I highly recommend it.

This AM I woke up with the thought that I would go swimming. But as I was laying there, luxuriating in the modern marvel that is air conditioning I came to the conclusion that it would be a much better idea to just turn over and go back to sleep. So I did.

I'll go running tomorrow to make up for my sloth-like behavior.
