I feel like a bum- no posting, minimal training. I'm trying to get back on track but have been distracted lately. Pats and I just did a relay tri last week so I'm feeling refreshed and re-inspired. I'll include the race report in the next post.
First for the workouts: I've been doing some swimming at the Y. I signed up for a full year membership and will start taking intermediate lessons in a few weeks. I've been trying to go 2-3 times a week but it's so dark outside when I get up in the mornings that sometimes I just wuss out. Same with the running--I've been going later and later in the AM (which means shorter runs) because of the gloom outside. I'm so lame. Tried doing some intervals this morning a la Patsy.
Here's what I did:

1km warm up
400 meters x 3 w/200 meter rest in between
.75km cool down
I must have been doing them right because I felt like throwing up when I was done. They kicked my ass and will hopefully (in time) kick my ass into shape!

  1. Awesome! Feeling like throwing up, without actually throwing up, indicates you're pace is spot on. That's great - and kudos for doing then without a track.
